Since 2009 this site is available also in english language to share a bigger knowledge on an international basis.
Therefore, we need one or two extra professional mariners who enjoy to participate on creating and managing the content of grosse-seefahrt.de. As a small preface is has to be said, that there will be never any responsibility to be online here regularly or to take over any jobs - this site has to be considered as a group hobby. This means, we do no service for anybody - we do everything on a voluntary basis, or just not. Fun and interest should be the only motivation.
Being an Administrator means, to have much more freedom and plenty more links arrearing on all different sites, where you can add, amend, update or delete content. As moderator, you should only interfere in discussions, it the niveau is getting low and there it not any self-regulation visible, or when thread topic are not formulated clearly or in the wrong forum.
The technique is quite easy as this site is also easy for normal visitor or member. You just have some more links, which will be explained just by doing something. If you would like to be inside our group of administrators and moderators, just ask us, and you can also test it.
There are differend kind of moderators:
- At first, there is the creator and owner of the site (nickname 'andrej') and the right hand and deputy, but almost the leader - the so called superadmin (nickname 'streetworker'). Those two can decide about all on this portal, also on recruiting new admins and moderators.
- Administrator can have the rights/freedom to participate in releasing/unlocking new content from visitors or own ones. He/she can create new topics, pages, downloads, links, ...
- Moderators should have the soft skills, the social competence to hold up a friendly atmosphere as well as cleaning, formulating and sorting the forums, or just a few forums, or to correct wrong answers or give more specialized answeres if it is one of your best known subject.
What kind of people we are searching for:
- You should have time and fun to enjoy this site, and a lot of interest in merchant shipping
- Very great would be somebody who is or was seafarer, mariner, shipping company employee, ship builder, classification, ...
